Doctor Appointment

Filed under: Doctor Visits — chager @ 9:06 pm

We had another doctor appointment today.  I had to do a Glucose Tolerance test.  Since Noah was so big when he was born, they want to watch me this time for gestational diabetes.  Well I “passed”.  My numbers were just fine.   I won’t have another test until 26 weeks or so.

I planned all along to beg the doctor to let us hear Pookie’s heartbeat with the doppler.  I just needed to hear it to really feel like this pregnancy is for real.  Luckily, I didn’t even have to ask.  She brought the doppler in with her!   Pookie’s heart was beating 164 beats per minute.    It’s such a great sound to hear!!!   Jeremy and I just looked at each other and beamed!!!    He/She is really in there!!!!

1st Doctor Appointment

Filed under: Doctor Visits — chager @ 11:36 am

We had our first ob appointment yesterday. There wasn’t much to this one. They basically just confirmed that I am indeed pregnant. She asked us if we had any questions, which we really don’t at this time. I’m sure they’ll come up though. The thing that really made this seem real, is when she handed us the packet of information. There is some paperwork that needs to be sent to the hospital 6 weeks before the due date, info about birthing classes, info about what to/not to eat, ok medications, etc. Getting that folder of info just brought me back to getting it when we found out we were pregnant with Noah! It’s just so real now! In a way I just can’t believe we’re doing this again. I’m so excited and happy, but at the same time, I’m scared! I can’t wait to tell people so that I can talk about things.

Our next appointment is Nov. 26th (four more weeks). That’ll just be another check up and they’re going to do the Glucose Tolerance Test. Since Noah was so big when he was born, they want to watch me closer this time for diabetes.

On a side note: Noah was with us at this doctor appointment. He acted like a little monster. I don’t think he’ll get to go with us next time.
